The Shapes & Ears
Let's dive into playing lead. It's very important to understand the framework to really advance at the art of improvisation. We'll start by singing an A and playing the pentatonic minor scale over it, making sure to tag each color we are hearing. Try to also tag the scale degree of each note against the root. In total, we are thinking of notes, color/feeling and degree for maximum internalization.

Lesson Summary
In this lesson we used singing and playing to internalize the framework of the A minor pentatonic root position. We began with the note A, playing the A minor pentatonic scale and singing the root. We tagged each note heard against the root (A) with its scale degree and felt the relationship between each note.
